The Naptown barBAYq Contest and Music Festival is held each May at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville, MD. Thousands of Festival go-ers from the Mid-Atlantic come out to enjoy live music, great food and a KCBS sanctioned barbeque competition. It is a family affair with live music, FREE kids' activities in the Kid Korral (kids 12 & under admitted free), arts and crafts vendors and cooking demonstrations.

NEW THIS YEAR – we have moved the KCBS Competitors into the Festival and created the barBAYq Village. This will give festival-goers the chance to walk through and meet the competitors, but don’t expect them to give you their secret recipe!

It will be open on Friday night and all day Saturday.

​Will there be an ATM? 
Yes, ATMs will be located by the front gate.

What's there to eat besides barbeque?
Everything from hot dogs, burgers, funnel cakes, and of course - crab cakes! We will also have several vegetarian meal options available as well.

How much is food?
Sandwiches will range from $6 - $8, a full platter can be upwards of $20, and beers are $5.

How much is parking?
Parking at the barBayq is FREE

Lost & Found?
Lost & Found is located at the Info Center, top of the hill near the People's Choice. We're getting quite the collection of items from prior years. 

Will there be a Groupon or LivingSocial deal?
No, this year we are only offering tickets through MissionTix and at the gate. You can take advantage of our early bird discount before April 30th.

How much does it cost for my children?
Admission for children 12 and under is FREE.

Is there a military discount?
Of course! We are honoring our active duty military with a $5 discount at the gate with valid military ID.

Do you offer a two day pass?
No, but we are exploring this option for future barBAYqs.

I can't go anymore, can I get a refund?
Sorry, refunds cannot be given but you can transfer your ticket through the MissionTix website.

How can I get a free ticket?
Tickets are frequently given away through Twitter and Facebook. You can also be granted free admission if you choose to be a volunteer.

Can I bring my pets?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the large crowd and food service, pets will not be allowed on premises.

Can I bring outside food and drink?
No outside food and drink will be permitted.

Can I bring a tent?
No, but a small sun umbrella is fine

Naptown barBAYq is holding it's 5th annual KCBS Judge School on Sunday May 3, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. This is an exclusive event with only 100 spots available and is one of only a handful of judge schools in the tri-state area. At judge school you will sample competition level barbecue and learn to how to judge at KCBS competitions. At the end of the class you will be an official KCBS judge which qualifies you to judge barbecue at any KCBS contest around the country. This is a ticket into barbecue paradise where only judges and competitors can go. If you like barbecue this is the class for you! The cost is $125 per person and that includes your annual KCBS membership fee. To sign up please go to www.barbayq.com.
