Zach Bellas and the Company Band’s new album “Let Me Out,” takes you on a rock and roll road trip with a solid blend of heart felt songs and blood pumping rockers. Conjuring reminders of guitar licks from Mark Knopfler and Santana balanced with a crisp and well polished voice, Zach is a musician with a clear direction and a great band to compliment his vision.
His songs display great diversity ranging from the pop love ballad, “Hello,” to hard driving tunes like “Rodeo,” and the Americana infused “Pair of Eyes.” And while Zach showcases strong lyrical structure throughout, he and the Company Band are at their best when they get down to jamming. On the title track “Let Me Out,” the final few minutes are tightly composed lead guitars trading solos and soaring over the beat, making you feel like you’re driving down an open highway late at night.
In fact, this isn’t the only track that makes you feel like you’re traveling in your car listening to some tunes. On “Hanging Out,” featuring some of the album’s steamiest and raw guitar moments, you feel like the song takes you on a journey. There’s no doubt many of the songs from “Let Me Out,” will be great to catch live with the added energy and excitement. The music stays true to its roots with bouncy Johnny Cash rhythm guitar and big drums, taking you on a fun filled and rockin’ ride. Zach Bellas comes to Annapolis on Sunday, December 7th to play Rams Head Tavern with Skribe. Let Me Out was produced locally by Bellas and Frank Marchand of Hudston Street Sound in Annapolis.
